The world leader in software services, Microsoft will eliminate upto 18,000 position by the next year . Of about 12500 professional and factory positions will be eliminated through synergies and strategic alignment of Nokia devices and services business acquired by microsoft on april 25.
The total elimination is expected to be completed by Dec 31, 2014 and fully by june 30 2015.
Microsoft expects to increase pre tax changes of $ 1.1 billion to $ 1.6 billion over the next four quarter.
These plans were framed in an e-mail from CEO Satya Nadela to microsoft employers and e-mail from Microsoft Executive Vice president Stephen Elop to Microsoft Driven Group Employees.
