IRCTC allows to book Meals along with Train Tickets

We all are aware of the quality of food served by the railway catering service of Indian railway.
IRCTC has been taking various steps to improve the standard of food.
On Pilot basis Indian Railway has introduced a new e-catering service where passengers will be able to book their  meals through IRCTC website, just like they book their train tickets.
The facility is available on two trains which includes-Mumbai Delhi Passenger Express.

While booking passengers will have to provide details on their travel journey e.g. Train timings, Destination, and the food outlet or restaurent from which they would like to order.
IRCTC website will give the details of restaurants like menu cards and prices of the food items.
There is also an alternative option that is passengers can call a toll free number to book their food.
Passengers will have the option of Cash On Delivery(COD) or can be paid through website while booking tickets online.
We all know that some private commercial restaurants offer quality and variety food items. IRCTC won't be responsible for the food being supplied. After getting the order IRCTC will inform to the concerned restaurant that an order has been placed , the restaurant will than track the Train timing and position via GPS , and will fulfill the order at the chosen station. Passengers can cancel or modify the orders according to the train timings if its gone late. Now passenger won't feel hassle during long train journey as far as food is concerned.
